Our Story
As a regional intermediary, CRVPF is striving to define a unique role in an era where outsider-led initiatives for children and youth are increasingly seen as unsustainable.
CRVPF is uniquely positioned to secure large block grants from external funders and serve as an intermediary between these donors and community organizations.
CRVPF is led by an East African leader and board with strong relationships and credibility among external donors. The organization has established a professional grants and finance management operation based in Kampala, complemented by a support office in the United States.
CRVPF has also developed a thoughtful strategy and the capacity to identify, listen to, organize, train, advise, and represent community organizations. Additionally, it has built a team of country-level advisors who scout community organizations and assess child rights and social justice issues. This is a complex, sensitive and self-reflexive role, and the development of this intermediation practice is an ongoing learning process.
